I wanted to combine the design of an old French cottage with a more modern layout. The goal was to combine a car workshop with a cozy home.
This wood went through a lot of changes. I got a lot of feedback that it was too busy so I tried to tone down the wood pattern.
My favorite detail I got to add to this environment was the reflections in the glass. It was fun to figure out and added the next level of realism I was looking for.
This was the first idea for the floor layout. I quickly decided that this floorplan was bad because it was cutting off the interesting part of my environment. If you cannot see the garage from the living room, then the space loses the entire story.
The lighting process was important to finish the feel of the environment.
This was the first blockout with a more open concept in mind.
This made sure the carshop was visible from the rest of the house.
This was the third round of blockouts when I was thinking about what props to make space for smaller details.
After this, I started going through and making my materials in designer and painter.
